AIRPORT & TRANSPO

AIRPORTS & TRANSPO
We suggest to either rent a car, or take the bus. In Tulum, you can rent a bicycle (get off your lazy ass and exercise), or a scooter, to scoot around

AIRPORTS: There are 2 airports to fly into: Cancun and Tulum International Airports. Cancun International Airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes from Tulum. Tulum International Airport is 40 minutes from Tulum. If you are flying from Mexico City, there are direct flights to either airport. If you are flying from the US, there have been some recent changes regarding direct flights to Tulum Please check with the airline to make sure there are direct flights from your outgoing airport.

TRANSPO: From either airport you will find both taxi service and ADO bus service to Tulum. Taxis can be purchased from a Taxi stand inside the airport. Tell the taxi 'Tulum' and give them the address / location of where you are staying.

The ADO bus goes to each Terminal directly. For the ADO bus schedule, click here -> ADO, and from the 'origin' window, pull down to 'Quintana Roo', then 'Cancun' and choose your terminal or for Tulum Airport, choose 'Quintana Roo', then choose 'Tulum', and then 'Tulum Airport'. For destination, follow the same process, but choose 'Tulum'

CAR RENTAL: You can find car rental locations in both Tulum and Cancun Airport!

HOTELS & AIRBNB ETC

We have compiled a list of hotels, on the beach, in town and also in Aldea Zama (where we will be staying) for you, with a discount & discount code. Just note, that there may be sargasso on the beach (AKA seaweed), so it may not be too pleasant.

There are plenty of Airbnbs in Tulum. Try to get a place with a pool - there are plenty of communal pools in the airbnbs and hotels. You will thank us afterward. Nothing like a morning swim or a nighttime dip.

SEE & DO

Cenotes

There are several Cenotes to visit! We recommend Gran Cenote, Atkun Chen & Mariposa Cenote.

Snorkeling

There are several  snorkeling tours available online, or you can go to Playa Xpu ha, or Cozumel Island.

Island Visit

There are 2 amazing islands to visit, Isle Mujeres and Cozumel. Take a day and enjoy !

Visit a Mercado

There's a small Mercado in Tulum you can visit for produce and restaurants. There is also a mercado an hour away at Felipe Carrillo Puerto where you can find restaurants, produce and crafts

Ruins

Several tours can take you to Chichen Itza or Tulum Ruins, or you can go on an adventure on your own!

Playa del Carmen

Just 45 minutes away from Tulum, with tons of stores, restaurants, nightlife and bars, you won't be bored taking a day trip or night trip here!

Swim with the Dolphins

Located in Akumal, 10 minutes from Tulum, lies Dolphin Discovery Akumal. Here you can swim with the Dolphins!

Hang with Monkeys

Yes, monkeys. They also have many other rescued animals. This sanctuary is located in Akumal, and you can choose different tour combos, including ATV, Cenotes and more!

Muyil River Float

Float down the magical turquoise lagoon floating, through Mayan canals and mangroves. Just 15 minutes from Tulum.

Beach Clubs

BEACH CLUBS
Please note - there is a LOT of sargasso. That said, some days it's not too bad, and some days are horrific. Rumors say that in August there will be a bit of relief. However, for a great beach day, Cozumel or Isle Mujeres are great day trips to enjoy the beach! Otherwise, cenotes and pools!

Chichi and good music. The food is good, the beach is gorgeous, and there isn't any loud electronic music penetrating every orifice.

Super hip & cool, and is part of the Gitano resto/club gang. Definitely worth the visit.

GITANO+LOGO+pink.png

Stoned waiters, cheap tacos & beers, the owner's dog has the run of the show, and great day time bands.

Logo La Eufemia.png

This spot is quintessential Tulum. Even if you go for a bite to eat or a bevvy, definitely check it out.

Chic, fun, joy in the sun. That's all I got.

Orchid House Logo.png

Great beach bar, Taco Thursdays, and Street Food Sundays, why wouldn't you go?

Papaya Playa Project

Iconic and pricey, worth the visit. You may need to make a ressie for the beach club.

Cool vibes, food, and pretty people. But then again, Tulum is all pretty people.

Chiringuito Tulum

We love it here when there isn't a shit ton of sargasso. The end.
